On to 1972.
Jan.20- To start the year off right the widley known and praised band, Pink Floyd, debuts their Darkside Side of the Moon album, at The Dome, in Brighton. The album would come to be one of the best albums of all time, top 25 albums in America and in the UK it was sixth best selling album.
Feb.13- Led Zeppelin lands in Singapore to perfrome but are halted by government officals who, get this, won't even let them off the plane because their hair is too long!!! What kind of nonsense is that!
Feb.23- The king of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presely and his wife Priscilla seperate after six years. Reasons for the divorce are not clear but there have been rumors that she cheated on him for her karate instructor!?
Mar.15- L.A. disc jokey Robert W. Morgan plays the Donny Osmond's Puppy Love for a non-stop 90 mintues!! Police were called but not arrest were made. Osmond took the song to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
June- Simon and Garfunkel reunite briefly after a years of seperation to perform live at Madison Square Garden in New York City for a campaign benefit for Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern.
June 10- Elvis performes the first of four concerts in Madison Square Garden. All four of the shows sell out in one day.Just to have been there!
